Tara Rushton (born 2 July 1984) is an Australian model and actress. She is best known for her acting work on the web, specifically portraying the role of Charlie in KateModern.

Career

At age 15, Rushton was signed by Vivien's Model Management, and often traveled to South East Asia to shoot campaigns for Ponds, Sunsilk, Toyota and Oral-B. She was also named Miss Photogenic in the Miss World Australia competition in 2003. In 2005, she left Sydney and moved to New York where she continued to model, and later moved to Germany, Sydney, Hong Kong, and Singapore over the next fifteen months. She was named "Australian Face of Guess Watches" in March 2007.[1]

Five weeks after moving to London in 2007, she was cast in the web serial KateModern as the best friend of the titular character.[2][3] Due to negative response to the character of Kate,[4] she was written out and Rushton's character became the main character for the remainder of the series.

Rushton was nominated for a Streamy Award in 2009 for Best Female Actor for her work on KateModern,[5][6] but ended up losing to Rosario Dawson.[7]

Rushton has also guest starred in the Australian comedy/drama called "Forget The Rules", in which she played Merline, a Facebook stalker.[8][9]
